  • Mr. Sanjay joined Tata Motors one and a half years back as Senior General Manager and Head HR for the Commercial Vehicles and International Business including all TML subsidiaries, both in India and overseas.
  • Prior to this, he was with Dr. Reddy’s for over six and a half years. He started his career in Dr. Reddy’s as HR Head, International Markets for Branded Formulations covering primarily the emerging markets. He was moved to Moscow as HR Head for Russia & CIS markets where he handled HR and allied functions for a business which had 700 plus foreign nationals spread over five countries. From Moscow, he was shifted to handle Europe HR with a special focus on betapharm, Germany which was the biggest international buyout by an Indian company at that point in time. He moved back to India in 2008 as Group Compensation & Benefits Head in addition to his Europe responsibilities. In 2010, he became the HR Head for Global Generics which had 70% of Dr. Reddy’s global revenues with responsibilities for North America, India, Europe and Emerging Markets.
  • Mr. Sanjay comes from the Civil Services background where he spent nine years as a member of Indian Railway Personnel Service cadre. At a very young age, he was the HR Head of the Mumbai Central Division of Western Railway which had 26000 plus employees.
  • After his tenure with the Indian Railways, Sanjay went to Nanyang Technological University, Singapore to do MBA in Strategic Management to enable him to look at the business from a broader canvas. Being a top ranker in the class, he was placed in the Dean's List of Honors. His first assignment on completion of his MBA was with Dr. Reddy’s.
  • Mr. Sanjay’s basic education is grounded in Psychology and Political Science. He did his graduation from the University of Allahabad and then moved to JNU, New Delhi to do post-graduation in International Studies followed by M.Phil coursework where he ranked first. He qualified UGC Junior Research Fellowship Exam and started his PhD in International Diplomacy when he qualified IAS examination twice and left his research to join the Civil Services.
