Continuum, the rolling seminar series held at Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, encompasses various management domains viz. Consulting, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations and Systems. Each year’s Continuum brings together eminent speakers from industry as well as from academia. The seminars focus on relevant issues and challenges faced by managers in the prevailing economic atmosphere. The Continuum seminars include interactive talks, panel discussions involving eminent speakers and workshops for hands-on learning. They are well attended by delegates from different organizations, distinguished alumni of the school, and students from other business schools as well as from other departments of IIT Bombay. The Continuum series also features a number of student competitions, including case study contests, paper presentations and business games. Consulting Continuum 2010 The Consulting Continuum 2010 will be the first event in Continuum 2010 series. Consulting Continuum 2010 is scheduled to be held on 20th March 2010. It will be organized by the 'Consig', Consulting Club of SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. The field of consulting has come to the fore in the past few years. From the initial days of providing the outsider’s perspective, a consultant is now viewed as a key cog in the organizational wheels and intrinsic to the company’s strategy. The Consulting Continuum explores myriad aspects across sectors, by initiating discussions on issues at the forefront of the consulting profession. Each Consulting Continuum consists of a series of events centred on a particular theme. Eminent speakers from industry and students of management and engineering institutes converge for an entire day’s event consisting of a lecture series followed by a panel discussion. Last year, Finance Continuum 2009 was about exploring the opportunities and challenges India faces in these changing times, The central theme of Finance Continuum 2009 was “Changing Global Financial Landscape: Opportunities and Challenges in India”- ans was held on 18th July 2009. The important question which was brainstormed throughout the day: how India should leverage the present situation following the catastrophic global crisis to its advantage and accelerate its growth and development. Systems Continuum 2010 Systems Continuum 2010 is scheduled to be held on September 25th 2010. It will be organized by the 'Systematics', Systems Club of SJMSoM, IIT Bombay. Systems Continuum explores different aspects of Information Technology and Information Systems in business by initiating discussions on cutting-edge topics.
